Replace Trans Fats

Doctors Mehmet Oz and Michael Roizen applaud the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s proposed regulation of artificial trans fat since it raises “bad” LDL cholesterol and lowers “good” HDL cholesterol. The change will pave the way for healthier cooking and baking options. They praise canola oil as being a good source of healthy omega-3 fat and for helping lower LDL cholesterol levels when used in place of saturated and trans fats. They also suggest choosing products made with oil predominant in unsaturated fats, such as canola.
