Healthy Ingredients: Fact vs Fiction

Forbes and Washington Post report on a review article published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. Eating patterns that include moderate consumption of liquid vegetable oils such as canola oil, are recommended over saturated fats found in butter and coconut oil.

Leah Silberman, RD, takes a closer look at the Mediterranean diet pillars on Mind Body Green and shares why the main ingredients (whole grains, healthy fats, fruits and vegetables) contribute to heart health. Silberman points to the unsaturated fats found in canola oil that can help lower cholesterol, thus reducing the risk for heart disease.
